Kristen Driskell has more than a decade of experience in California state government as both an attorney and a manager of technical staff. She is experienced in developing and implementing state appliance efficiency standards, advocating in federal appliance efficiency rulemakings, and advising and presenting to state and federal decisionmakers. After working as an attorney with the program, she led the California Energy Commission’s (CEC) appliance efficiency program from 2015 to 2018 to establish new or updated standards for computers, computer monitors, water closets, faucets, urinals, showerheads, and general service light-emitting diode (LED) lamps. She served as the CEC’s representative on the Appliance Standards Awareness Project Steering Committee and on multiple U.S. Department of Energy rulemaking working groups, including pool pump motors and central air conditioners and heat pumps. She served as Director of the Efficiency Division and as the CEC’s representative on the Appliance Standards Rulemaking federal Advisory Committee (ASRAC) until her departure from the CEC in 2019. She returned to the CEC in 2021 as an Assistant Chief Counsel before joining 2050 Partners in 2023.
